KIDS PASTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

 

This position is part-time (20hrs a week), $13,000 - $15,000. Applicant must be Spirit-filled and believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

 


Management & Organization:

  • Introduce and choreograph new worship songs with moves on a monthly basis for both CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB. (CRASH CLUB is an after school program where we put on kid’s services in local public schools)
  • Schedule dance and song practices to teach CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB volunteers at minimum once a month.
  • Work closely with the Connect Team and Lobby Decorative Team by communicating and outlining what needs to happen weekly to make the welcome experience dynamic for families and students.
  • Plan series and service flow for CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB.
  • Input service scripts from both services into PCO including the Friday night set-up volunteer crew.
  • Use creativity by introducing new ideas such as new segments, new voices, new bible stories, new visual illustrations, new games, using students etc.
  • Think outside the box; refrain from using the same formula from week to week in CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB.
  • Maintain equipment, storage spaces, puppets, etc. in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion that demonstrate theCRASH standard of excellence.
  • Leaves kids’ space, restrooms, halls and lobby clean after each use.
  • Secure decorations and lead a team in redecorating the kids’ church area during new series launches.
  • Utilize resources such as: technology, PCO, puppets, crafts, supplies etc. provided by theCRASH for both CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB for optimum results.
  • Train volunteers to operate and use technology, PCO, and puppets provided.
  • Obtains props, prizes, games and any materials needed for services and have them ready for both CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB.
  • Order items on time and avoid overnight-rush ordering items etc.
  • Coordinate new volunteers to serve within two weeks of the last Growth Track session.
  • Follow up with each person regarding places they want to serve within the kids’ ministry.
  • Send background checks and training links to new volunteers.
  • Verify completion of background checks and training with Martha before volunteers serve.
  • Plan and organize a kid’s camp one week during the summer.
  • Plan and organize vacation Bible School one week in the summer.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and complete them from beginning to end.
  • Follow through on assignments and show independence by completing tasks or managing teams to complete tasks thoroughly.

 

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Recruit and train new CRASH KIDS and CRASH CLUB volunteers.
  • Foster a love and culture of worship, serving, and learning within volunteers.
  • Spend time with individual members of the team improving abilities and technical skills.
  • Take ownership of theCRASH campus and services and never be outworked by a volunteer.
  • Serve and ensure success of volunteers.
  • Jump in when needed in any capacity of serving and I do not hide behind defined roles and lanes.
  • Be a team player and understand every ministry team is connected and affects all the others.
  • Mentor, invest and spend personal time and energy growing and influencing different people outside of theCRASH services.
  • Leverage the power of adoption and invite people into your life on a deep and personal level.
  • Have meaningful connections and relationships with new CRASH members and volunteers.
  • Challenge the kids’ team to reach their highest potential within kids’ ministry.
  • Lead the kids’ team in prayer and fasting.
  • Take ownership in spiritual growth and leadership to improve my skills and craft using (podcasts, audiobooks, books, prayer, etc.).
  • Push yourself personally to the next level in job performance and spiritual growth.
  • Accept feedback and apply it for personal improvement.
  • Demonstrate leadership by being faithful in tithes and offering.

 

 

 

Professionalism & Communication:

  • Communicate respectfully with other employees, volunteers, and CRASH family members.
  • Refrain from speaking with condescending language and tone.
  • Use courteous and kind facial expressions towards others.
  • Use professional verbal and non-verbal communication with others.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by being in regular attendance and arriving on time to work, staff meetings, prayer meetings, rehearsals, and other church events. 
  • Show up ready and prepared before rehearsals, practices and services begin.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by working while at work.
  • Limit personal conversations, phone calls, texts, and time on the computer unrelated to work.
  • Build a culture of honor through Godly confrontation and clear communication.
  • Work cooperatively to create an atmosphere of unity among theCRASH community by refraining from gossip, negativity and unsupportive comments. 
  • Practice a culture of honor when disagreements arise and negative thoughts/annoyances occur.
  • Exercise wisdom by remaining calm, respectful and non-defensive during meetings, planning sessions, disagreements, and personal attacks.
  • Demonstrate professional communication during phone conversations, personal conversations, emails, and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter etc.
  • Refrain from attacking others, fighting, or engaging in controversial subjects on social media.
  • Use professional communication on and off church campus.
  • Exhibit professionalism in appearance and follow theCRASH Leadership standard of dress.
  • Apply theCRASH Leadership standard of dress to social media posts in regards to modesty in dress and action (ex: swimsuit, cleavage, & shirtless pictures, in addition to post with alcohol, cigarettes and bars etc.).
  • Regularly communicate and share information with the Pastor, other employees, and volunteers about all aspects of my ministry such as: needs, concerns, expectations, clear directions, updates, and other important information people and teams may need to make everything run smoothly.
  • Check staff email daily, answer phone calls and text messages from the Pastor, other leaders, volunteers and anyone needing anything pertaining to your ministry or the ministry of theCRASH family.
  • Respond to other employees and volunteers within 12 hours.
  • Read updates, notes, PCO and follow the UPTO calendar.
